Have you ever noticed how easily we recognize and react to triggers for stress, anxiety, or burnout—but rarely set up triggers for our own success? In the Embody Her framework, I call this “triggering the win.” It’s about intentionally activating the small victories that move us closer to our biggest goals, and it’s a game-changer for women who are ready to thrive.
Think of Your Journey Like a Relay Race
Imagine your goal as a relay race. Each step you take—each “mini win”—is like passing the baton to the next version of yourself, getting you closer to the finish line. But too often, we only notice the triggers that slow us down or make us stop. What if you could flip the script and set up triggers that keep you moving forward, building momentum with every step?
Here’s How to Start Triggering Your Wins:
1. Identify Your Mini Wins and Set Low-Resistance Triggers
Break your big goal into smaller, manageable milestones. Then, create easy, low-resistance actions that will trigger your next step. For example, if you want to launch a podcast, your first “win” might be recording a voice note and sending it to a friend for feedback—no editing, no perfectionism. The key is to choose an action that feels doable and doesn’t activate fear or self-doubt.
2. Celebrate and Reward Yourself—Your Way
For some, a tangible reward (like a treat or a new journal) is motivating. For others, it’s about affirming your power and progress: tell yourself, “I am the powerhouse. I am the leader. I am her.” Choose rewards that feel good to you and reinforce your belief that you deserve ease and success.
3. Make Your Triggers Trauma-Informed
If receiving or celebrating feels uncomfortable, start small and gentle. Set up triggers that help regulate your nervous system and teach your body that it’s safe to win. This could be as simple as pausing to acknowledge your progress or sharing your work with someone who supports your growth—without seeking validation, just activating momentum.
Remember: Every time you take action, no matter how small, you’re sending a signal to yourself and the universe that you’re ready for the next level. Over time, winning becomes your new normal—and giving up is no longer an option.
